Sione Tuipulotu will captain Scotland during the 2025 Six Nations with head coach Gregor Townsend naming his 37-man squad for the tournament.
Townsend has called up one uncapped forward and one back for the Championship as the side looks to improve on their fourth-place finish in 2024.
Scotland are without the services of Adam Hastings who has been ruled out through injury which has provided Saracens star Fergus Burke with the chance of a potential Test debut.
Burke qualifies for England, New Zealand and Scotland through his lineage but has opted for the thistle as he looks to make the step up to international rugby.
The playmaker was viewed as Richie Mo’unga’s long-term replacement at the Crusaders before making the move north and many expected him to make the step up to the All Blacks squad after representing New Zealand at U20s level.
Now he has been called up to the Scotland squad where he will compete with the likes of vice-captain Finn Russell and Tom Jordan for minutes in the fly-half role.
Meanwhile, back-rower Jack Mann has been rewarded for his form for Glasgow Warriors with a call-up to the Scotland squad.
Amongst the 22 forwards included in the squad is Bordeaux-Bègles’ Jonny Gray, who will be hoping to earn a first appearance since the 2023 Six Nations having earned 77 previously.
Gray is one of five second-row forwards, alongside Grant Gilchrist, Scott Cummings, Marshall Sykes and Gregor Brown.
Scotland kick-off their Six Nations campaign at home against Italy on Saturday 1 February before hosting Ireland on Sunday 9 February, before heading to Twickenham on Saturday 22 February to contest the Calcutta Cup.
They then have a home match against Wales on Saturday 8 March before finishing up with a trip to Paris to face France on Saturday 15 March.
