FORMER CHELSEA YOUNGSTER ANNOUNCES BRIGHTON DEPARTURE AFTER LOAN SPELL WITH EX-ARSENAL COACH

Brighton academy graduate Antef Tsoungui has announced he is leaving the club.

The 20-year-old has spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Belgian second-division side Lommel, who are managed by former Arsenal assistant manager Steve Bould.

The defender, who signed for the Seagulls from Chelsea in 2018, has made one senior appearance for the Albion, which came back in August 2021 against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup..

He has now confirmed on social media that his time on the south coast has come to an end, with the Belgian thanking Brighton's players and staff for what they had helped him achieve since his arrival.

"After spending six years at this amazing club unfortunately it's time to part ways," said Tsoungui on his Instagram page.

"I would like to thank the club who has given me so much help to becoming the player I am and has given me my professional debut along the way. Thank you to all the players and staff members I have met on this long journey. I wish the club all the best in the future!"

Brighton have also recently seen youngster Haydon Roberts leave after nearly a decade with the club. The defender joined the Albion back in 2015 and worked his way up the youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2019 in a 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Aston Villa - a game he scored in.
