FRANCES TIAFOE ASKS FOR COMMISSION AFTER WORLD'S RICHEST TENNIS STAR SECURES SPONSOR DEAL

Jessica Pegula announced a new collaboration with Stella Artois in a hilarious new advertisement ahead of her highly anticipated semi-final clash against Elena Rybakina at the 2023 Miami Open. On Wednesday, Stella Artois, the official beer sponsor of the Miami Open, announced a new partnership with Frances Tiafoe.

Tiafoe shared the news in an Instagram post under which Pegula inquired about how to secure a deal with the brand. She joked that nobody was willing to pay her for a feature, which prompted a response from Stella Artois.

"How do you get a Stella deal? Nobody will cut the check for me," Pegula commented.

The saga was detailed in Jessica Pegula's announcement of having secured a brand deal with Stella Artois. The advert showed the world No 3 enjoying her time meeting fans at the Miami Open between sips of her Stella Artois drink.

Pegula will be teaming up with the brand for their Perfect Serve program, which seeks to make tennis more accessible to fans by offering them the opportunity to win tickets and VIP packages for some of the biggest tournaments in the sport.

Pegula wrote on Instagram: "I have two incredible wins to share today! First, I'm heading into the semi-finals for @MiamiOpen and I'm excited to announce partnering with @stellaartoisusa for their Perfect Serve program in Miami. I love a brand that moves quickly and can't wait to see what else Stella has in store!"

Upon learning the news, Frances Tiafoe joked about requiring a commission from Pegula as he was the catalyst behind her new deal with the brand.

"Hahaha no way this is real - I need a commission I put you on," Tiafoe posted.

Jessica Pegula booked a semifinal spot at the 2023 Miami Open after a thrilling encounter against Anastasia Potapova in the quarterfinals. The World No 3 saved two match points and overcame a lengthy rain delay to reach her seventh WTA 1000 semifinal.

Pegula was all praise for Elena Rybakina ahead of their semifinal clash in Miami. She lauded the Kazakh and World No 2 Aryna Sabalenka as the "ones to beat" on the WTA tour.

"I feel like her and Sabalenka are the ones to beat right now, so it's going to be a great test and I think a deserved semi for a tournament like this," she said in her post-match interview.

Pegula leads 2-0 in her head-to-head against Elena Rybakina, with her most recent win coming at the 2022 Guadalajara Open.
