FEMALE WIMBLEDON STAR RICHER THAN DJOKOVIC, NADAL AND FEDERER COMBINED MAKES HISTORY

Tennis star Emma Navarro has made history by reaching the second round of Wimbledon for the first time. The 23-year-old - who is richer than legends Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal combined - began with a victory at SW19 on Monday evening.

Navarro, from Charleston, South Carolina, defeated Qiang Wang 6-0, 6-2 in her first round clash at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. She is likely to face a tougher test in Wednesday's second round match against Japanese wildcard Naomi Osaka.

And while she will hope to leave her mark on the tournament, she is certainly not under any financial pressure to do so. That's thanks to her father, Ben, being a billionaire investment tycoon.

The World No.17 is also the granddaughter of Frank Navarro, a former American football player and coach. Ben, meanwhile, is the founder and owner of Sherman Financial Group, which owns Credit One bank.

He has also made investments in tennis while Emma continues to rise through the ranks. He bought Charleston Tennis LLC in 2018, which stages the Charleston Open - the longest-running women-only tennis tournament in the world.

Ben has renovated a 10,000-capacity stadium in Charleston, renaming the tournament and the arena after his company - Credit One. He went on to buy the rights to the Western and Southern Open in 2022, which hosts both men's and women's singles.

That all takes Navarro's net worth up to a whopping £2.35billion, meaning she boasts almost three times the wealth of tennis' 'Big Three'. Even with all of their success and endorsements, Federer's estimated net worth is £431million, while Djokovic and Nadal are worth £188m and £173m respectively.

Navarro made her slam debut as a wildcard at the US Open in 2021, where she was knocked out in the first round by Christina McHale. Her next major tournament experience came at Roland-Garros last year, where she reached the second round.

Having won her first WTA Tour title at the 2024 Hobart International, she went on to reach the third round of this year's Australian Open. And Navarro is currently in good form, reaching the fourth round of the French Open last month - her best Grand Slam performance to date.
