ANDY MURRAY BACKED TO FORM 'DREAM TEAM' WITH EMMA RADUCANU AS WIMBLEDON DECISION 'TO BE MADE AT LAST MOMENT'
Mark Petchey believes Andy Murray could form a 'dream team' with Emma Raducanu as his Wimbledon dream hangs in the balance.
The former world No 1 has confirmed he will decide 'at the last moment' to play at the prestigious competition as retirement looms.
Murray said: "Maybe it's my ego getting in the way but I feel that I deserve the opportunity to give it until the very last moment to make that decision.
"The operation has gone really, really well and I'm recovering really well.
"I hit some balls yesterday. I'm not in much pain at all, but the nature of nerve injuries is that they're quite slow to recover.
"I don't know exactly how long it's going to take for the nerve to get to a stage where I'm able to compete or play, whether that's three days or whether it's three weeks or five weeks.
"It's impossible to say."
Murray has also confirmed he's set to retire after the Paris Olympics.
And former tennis star Petchey, speaking to BoyleSports who offer the latest Wimbledon Betting, believes he could be the perfect coach for Raducanu.
"Absolutely. Of course he could," he said when asked about Raducanu potentially taking Murray as her coach.
"If that option came up for Emma she would be mad not to take it.
"That would be the dream team in so many ways. He would be phenomenal."
Petchey used to coach Raducanu himself.

And he says he's proud of everything she's achieved throughout her short tennis career.
"I totally adore her. We do not speak as much these days as back then," he said.
"It was a great time. She was 17 and mixing A-levels with tennis practice. It was during COVID at the National Tennis Centre.
"She never missed a practice, driving herself from Bromley and smashed it with her A-levels. She took on board everything we decided to work on.
"We changed her racket, her serve and forehand techniques and she was open-minded and dedicated to everything we did.

"I did three and four hour practice sessions with her and she would be out there no problem at all.
"She worked her butt off. That is all I ever saw.
"Any criticism I see coming her way, I just dismiss because that is not the person I saw."
When asked what makes Raducanu 'tick', he continued: "At her level, it is mental strength.
"She has worked so hard to be one of the one percenters. Emma is at that top level.
"What makes her great? Athleticism.
"She strikes the ball early and cleanly which takes time away from her opponents which makes it easier for her to play a game on her terms.
"That is another reason she is so great. She understands her opponent’s weaknesses and she is a good enough tennis player to expose those weaknesses."
