JADON SANCHO TRANSFER 'BLOCKED' WITH MAN UTD EXIT PUT 'ON HOLD'

There is ‘little’ chance that Jadon Sancho will leave Manchester United for Juventus before the end of the transfer window, according to Italian reporter Gianluca di Marzio.

United and Juve had been in talks with United over a deal for Sancho, which could have seen the winger join the Serie A giants on loan with an obligation to buy.

However, Di Marzio has claimed the deal is ‘on hold’ as the finances are proving ‘onerous’ for Juventus, despite seeing Federico Chiesa leave for Liverpool.

In particular, the failure to sell Filip Kostic and Arthur are holding up Juventus’ finances and currently blocking Sancho’s arrival.

Juve are still working to try and bring Sancho in but the club are also satisfied with their summer business and feel no need to force anything after winning their opening two Serie A games.

Sancho had been open to a move to Juventus but some reports had also claimed that the 24-year-old is holding out to a move to Chelsea, who are also said to be interested in him.

Man Utd still hoping Chelsea can rescue Sancho transfer

United had been looking to get Sancho’s wages off their books, having seen the forward fail to feature in the opening two games of the season under Erik ten Hag.

Sancho and Ten Hag both called a truce this summer after their public fall-out last season but it appears the former England international still has not convinced the United boss of his credentials.

Despite interest from the likes of Dortmund and Barcelona earlier in the summer, Sancho’s wages have proven difficult for teams to meet, while United’s asking price in excess of €40 million is also thought to have limited any approaches.

Chelsea still remain in with a chance of signing Sancho before Friday’s transfer deadline but any move for the United star would depend on Raheem Sterling leaving the club, potentially moving to Old Trafford in the process, although such a swap appears unlikely.
