The second race of the F1 2023 season has finally arrived at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after a two-week break from the curtain raiser in Bahrain and the problems continue to mount for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. Plagued by pace issues in the opening race, the German manufacturer have been scrambling to make improvements to his car to dampen any talk of an early retirement as Red Bull look increasingly dominant.
The Briton fumed about his suggestions being ignored by Mercedes chief engineers in designing the car and it appears the 38-year-old may be some way off the pace at the Jeddah Corniche street circuit this weekend, although Mercedes are bringing a small upgrade.
There have been changes in Hamilton's garage though, having announced his split from long-term fitness trainer Angela Cullen after seven years working together. And it remains to be seen how their parting could affect him with concerns amongst Mercedes fans.
Elsewhere, drivers are once again unhappy with the layout of the track after the first two practice sessions, with Pierre Gasly among those to vent over the radio. With FP3 and qualifying to come, it promises to be an action-packed day on Saturday.
