NEWCASTLE UNITED STARS LEFT UNSETTLED BY CLUB’S APPROACH AROUND PSR DEADLINE

Some Newcastle United players have been left unsettled by the club’s willingness to offload stars to meet PSR requirements, according to the Chronicle.

As 30th June deadline neared, Newcastle found themselves in crisis and scrambling around to offload players to fill a substantial deficit.

They looked at selling a host of players, with Anthony Gordon the subject of discussions with Liverpool, Alexander Isak linked with Chelsea and Miguel Almiron suggested as a possible departure to Saudi Arabia, amid other transfer suggestions.

Eventually Newcastle managed to address their PSR issues by selling Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest and Yankuba Minteh to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The intense transfer talk and Newcastle’s willingness to offload players has unsettled a host of members of their squad.

It is suggested several Newcastle stars have been left with more questions than answers.

What effect the days leading up to 30th June may have on squad unity and commitment to the club amongst some stars remains to be seen.

Newcastle are expected to see further player exits over the course of the summer transfer window as they try to balance the books while backing Eddie Howe.
