NEWCASTLE ANNOUNCE NEW HEAD COACH TO REPLACE EDDIE HOWE

  • Newcastle United have officially announced Matthias Jaissle as their new head coach, following the departure of Eddie Howe.
  • The 38-year-old, who previously managed Al-Ahli, has commenced his duties after meeting the squad at their pre-season training camp in La Manga over the weekend, with all necessary paperwork now finalised.
  • The Magpies are understood to have paid a significant compensation package, reportedly exceeding £9 million, to secure the German’s services.
  • Jaissle, who also had a spell at RB Salzburg, expressed his honour at the appointment.
  • He said: "It is an incredible honour to become head coach of Newcastle United. This is one of the biggest clubs in European football, with a unique history, identity and supporter base, and I am excited to experience that passion and connection first-hand."
