Erik ten Hag is wasting no time in reshaping Manchester United's entire backroom staff in his image, after hiring goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar from Burnley.
Ten Rouwelaar has been hired to work with United keepers Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton ahead of the new season.
The move signifies Ten Hag's new lease of life as United's manager after being handed a contract extension until 2026 and it's expected more changes to squad and staff are on the horizon.
The Ten Rouwelaar switch has not been without his hurdles, however, with the Dutchman originally expected to sign for Ajax two months ago.
His switch has been in limbo since the departure of Burnley's former manager Vincent Kompany, who joined Bayern Munich in a shock move last month.
United are working on a compensation package with Ajax, and are reportedly looking to push the deal through as quickly as possible.
Ten Rouwelaar is considered a modern goalkeeping coach, who trains his keepers to enable teams to pass out from the back.
The 43-year-old played a pivotal role in Kompany's 2022-23 Championship winning side, coaching Arijanet Muric across the season.
Kompany hired Ten Rouwelaar from Anderlecht in 2020 when he was manager, and brought him to Burnley in 2022. Ten Rouwelaar also coached the Dutch Under-20 side during the 2018-19 season.
Richard Hartis, United's current United's goalkeeping coach, will leave the club this summer. Hartis joined under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019, but will leave as his contract expires.
This is the second spell Hartis has spent at the club, having originally overseen academy goalkeeping and then the first team by the end of the 2007-08 season.
