LIVERPOOL TRANSFER NEWS: NICO WILLIAMS STANCE EMERGES AS REDS SUFFER ADRIEN RABIOT BLOW

Liverpool are stepping into their next era under Arne Slot ahead of the 2024-25 season - and he won't be only new face arriving at Anfield this summer.

After Jurgen Klopp departed alongside a number of long-serving players, the Reds are drawing up plans to add more quality and make a more sustained Premier League title charge. There's also Champions League football to contend with once again, increasing the need for strength in-depth throughout their squad.

Countless names are being linked with moves to the red half of Merseyside and it'll be the job of Slot, new sporting director Richard Hughes and the Reds' recruitment team to select the best on offer - all while staying within their budget.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Liverpool's stance on Williams emerges

Liverpool would reportedly be willing to pay Nico Williams' £46.5million release clause. The Athletic Bilbao winger has lit up Euro 2024 with a string of superb performances for red-hot Spain.

Lacroix rejects new deal

Maxence Lacroix has reportedly turned down a contract offer from Wolfsburg amid links of a move to Liverpool. The French centre-back, who's left-footed, has entered in the final 12 months of his deal and is attracting interest from across Europe and in the Premier League.

Reports from Italy state that Lacroix, 24, is niw exploring his options after rejecting the chance to sign a new deal with Wolfsburg. Crystal Palace, who are managed by ex-Wolfsburg boss Oliver Glasner, have also been tipped to sign him alongside Juventus and AC Milan.

Rabiot makes preference clear

Adrien Rabiot has decided that he wants to join Real Madrid, despite Liverpool and Newcastle both 'making a move' for the France international. Rabiot, 29, is a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired and it's claimed that the Italian giants have given up on attempting to tie him down to a new deal.

Calciomercato report that Juve are now pushing ahead of sign Khephren Thuram from Nice. That suggests Rabiot will be on the move and his ideal destination is Real Madrid.
