LAURA WOODS LANDS BRAND NEW JOB STARTING STRAIGHT AFTER ITV STINT AT EURO 2024

ITV Euro 2024 host Laura Woods will have another sporting assignment barely a month after the tournament ends, joining the Discovery+ and Eurosport team for the Paris Olympic Games.

Warner Bros Discovery-owned Eurosport remains the lead broadcaster for the Olympics, as was the case for the Tokyo games, though the BBC will show some of the action in the UK. Woods has been announced as part of a large team covering the games, hosting UK coverage, while Boris Becker and 2004 Olympic heptathlon champion were Carolina Kluft among the others confirmed as part of Eurosport's team.

Former Olympians Lutalo Muhammad and James Cracknell are among the other British members involved. Tom Daley will also be involved after competing in Paris, with the diver defending the Men's synchronized 10 metre platform title he won in Tokyo.

TNT Sports, where Woods has been the anchor for Champions League football, is also part of the same company. The Olympics will be done before the 2024-25 Champions League gets underway with its new league phase in September.

Woods will be part of the broadcast team for the opening ceremony in Paris on July 26, along with Craig Doyle and a series of guests. She is also set to anchor an evening round-up show, 'Bonsoir Paris', while Orla Chennaoui will present morning preview show 'Bonjour Paris'.

In the meantime, Woods remains part of the ITV team for the Euros, which ends on July 14. She has hosted the broadcaster's coverage of multiple games, most recently the round of 16 clash between Austria and Turkey.

It was Vincenzo Montella's side who came out on top, thanks to a brace from Merih Demiral. ITV will show their quarter-final against the Netherlands and the tie between Spain and Germany, with England vs Switzerland and France vs Portugal on the BBC.

The BBC confirmed their own Olympic broadcast team at the end of June. The British broadcaster will boast 250 hours of coverage, with Gabby Logan and Clare Balding among those involved.

Multiple Olympic champion Dame Laura Kenny will be among the studio guests for the first games since she announced her retirement from cycling. 'First Dates' TV personality Fred Sirieix is also set to spend time in the studio as his daughter Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix represents Team GB at diving.

"Paris has got exceptional venues," BBC host Logan said in a statement. "In a city which loves to show off its spectacular beauty, it's going to be a visually stunning Games, and for the tourist an amazing experience. For us in the UK, being only an hour ahead will feel like a home games."
