CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW REVEALED AS ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL, MAN CITY AND VILLA LEARN OPPONENTS

The Champions League draw has been completed and Liverpool have been handed a daunting run of fixtures.

The competition's new format, which has seen the number of participating teams jump up to 36, means the Premier League quartet of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City will all play at least eight fixtures.

The Reds have been given a mouthwatering tie at home to Real Madrid and there will also be an Anfield homecoming for Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso. RB Leipzig and AC Milan are two of the other standout ties for Arne Slot's side.

Manchester City's toughest fixtures on paper include Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. They will travel to Turin to play Italian giants Juventus.

Arsenal will also play Inter and PSG and will travel to Atalanta and Sporting Lisbon. The Gunners will host Monaco and Shaktar Donetsk in other standout fixtures.

Aston Villa are playing in Europe's premier competition for the first time since 1983 and they will host Scottish champions Celtic at Villa Park for one of their eight games.

Unai Emery's side will also play Bayern Munich and Juventus at home with trips to Leipzig, Club Bruges and Monaco also on the cards.
